Quick update

Just a quick update, I haven’t posted in awhile since I’ve been so busy with a few projects going on. Plus my camera wasn’t working for awhile so no pictures to show just yet either. A few things to talk about though. About a month or so ago I was contacted to do a painting for volume 4 of Torpedo. Which is an illustrated fiction quarterly out of Melbourne Australia. Volume 4 is going to be a tribute issue to Californian writer Richard Brautigan. Whom I must say I had not heard of up until this. He has some very interesting work though and I mean that in a good way. There will be alot of writers and illustrators contributing to the book, doing pieces based on some of Brautigans work. So this should be pretty neat. I chose to do a painting based on a short poem of his, which I’ll probably post that next week once I’m finished with it. Along with a time lapse video.

I’m also participating in another art project which is still developing so nothing is really set in stone yet. I’ll just say you’ll be seeing a lot more drawings and mixed media pieces from me for awhile. I’ll still be doing paintings though of course.

Then lastly I’ve been busy with a little project of my own that I figured I’d mention since it does have to do with art and creativity in a way. As those who know me already know I’m addicted to Halloween, haha. Combining that with my love for art, filmmaking, and all things theatrical, Halloween can never really be “normal” for me. When I was a kid I was always fascinated with those who decorated their houses all creepy for Halloween, taking things a step farther than the usual pumpkins and a scarecrow or two. Then about 7 years ago myself, some friends, and family somewhat randomly decided to go all out elaborately decorating the foyer of my house for Trick or Treaters. Turning it into a haunted forest scene. Ever since then we’ve been creating yard displays (or haunts as some people call them) for Halloween. Although the past few years we haven’t done as much, this year we have some pretty neat stuff planned. So I’ll be sure to share some pictures of that over the next month.

Anyway, that’s all for now. I have some drawings that I need to photograph so those will be posted here and on my website in a day or so. I’m also doing an interview with Zupi Magazine based in Brazil, that will be up soon as well.

Just listed Sakura up for auction on ebay. I’ll post again later, right now I’m extremely tired from being up really late last night.

The bunny in this piece was based off of some little plush bunnies I randomly made a few years ago. One day I’ll pull out my sewing machine and make some more of them. I keep finding all this cute fabric on Etsy, makes me want to make something.
Anyways back to the painting. I’ll be auctioning this one off on ebay this coming Monday (August 18th). It will be a week long listing with a starting bid at $50.00. more information can be found on my website shop.
I made a youtube video of this one as well but youtube has been acting odd today and not uploading anything. Or it could very well be my computer, seeing as it’s been acting rather strange lately too. So I’ll have to try to upload it again later on.

Also I don’t suppose there is anyway to retrieve deleted comments on wordpress? Yesterday I was clearing out some spam comments and accidentally deleted all of my comments instead >_<

Just a little sneak peek at this mini painting. I’m getting ready to frame this piece either tomorrow or Friday. It’s still a bit wet so I need to give it some more time to dry before I frame and photograph it.
I’m also working on some neat new limited jewelry pieces that will feature my paintings “The Lollipop Parade” and “Little Girl Blue”. Both are going to be large silver cameo style necklaces with chipped gemstones and other decorative beads. I have some brass lockets laying around as well that I need to do something with.

I posted a few hours ago about the new open edition photo prints and just wanted to quickly note for those who viewed them that they are no longer available for the time being. I noticed some problems with the printing that I somehow overlooked earlier so I’ve taken them off my site until the issue is resolved.

Last night I was clearing stuff off my camera’s memory card when I remembered that I had taken photos while drawing “Sahar”. So I put them together in a short slide show and uploaded it to youtube.

Enjoy!

A little late but here they are, I really enjoyed creating these. I definitely think I’ll continue to play around with watercolors and make more pieces like these between working on my oil paintings. I’ve been wanting to try Gouache paint lately as well. I almost bought a Windsor and Newton set a few weeks ago, I don’t know why I put it back. Anyways onto the drawings, both of these will be available for sale as soon as their frames arrive.

Watercolors

I decided to pull out my watercolors for a little while yesterday and created these two small pieces. The second one I’m obviously still working on. I’ll post the finished results either tomorrow or Saturday.

Updated the shop yesterday with the new keychains and cellphone charms. Took a bit longer expected for the cellphone straps to arrive. They all came out quite nice though and it was definitely fun making them. They are also available in my new Etsy shop. Which isn’t exactly new seeing as I’ve had it for quite some time. I just never put much on there or updated it much until now.

Also a peek at another sketch I started on a few days ago. I’ve been into clowns lately for some reason and have alot of neat ideas floating around. So I think I might do a little series based on them, but first I have a lot of painting to catch up on. Tomorrow I’m hoping to finish up that mini 5″x7″ painting that I posted pictures of a couple weeks ago.
